Bus operator Stagecoach has ploughed £750,000 into providing new easy access buses for Oxford.
The seven new 42-seat vehicles are fitted with low floors, allowing passengers to step on and off from the pavement more easily.
The investment brings the total amount spent on the company's fleet to £20m in the last four years.
Marketing manager David Whitley said: "The latest investment is good news for Oxford. It's a strong indication of how the Stagecoach group views the potential of Oxford as a bus operating city and a good place in which to invest."
Stagecoach bosses say the new buses have been introduced to increase the reliability of city centre services. They are also greener as all are fitted with the latest low emission engines, while the interior has been designed and colour-coded to help passengers with disabilities.
The buses have space for one wheelchair and places for four pushchairs.
The launch will coincide with new timetables to be introduced this month.
