A new bid is being made to turn the Royal Oak at Moreton, Thame, into a house.
The pub, which became a French cuisine restaurant, closed its doors without warning at Christmas two years ago. It has not opened since.
Villagers want it to reopen as a viable pub and have strongly opposed moves to turn it into a house.
Now South Oxfordshire District Council, which rejected a similar application last year, is being asked to think again.
