Abingdon let slip a 3-1 lead as they were held 3-3 by Phoenix in South League Area Division 1 at Tilsley Park.
Phoenix took the lead after 15 minutes when Mike Latham's low flick eluded the Abingdon defence.
Abingdon equalised within a minute, Andy Maunder deflecting Ross Morgan's penalty corner strike high into the roof of the net.
Mike Ruppe put the home side in front with a reverse stick shot from the left, and Matt Leney gave Abingdon a two-goal half-time cushion.
But Phoenix pulled back two goals in the last quarter through Alan Griffiths and a Morgan own goal.
Second-placed Bicester slipped to a shock 2-0 defeat at bottom club Bracknell.
