Tony McCoy was heading for Newbury today needing just one success to record the fastest 200 winners in a season.
The champion jockey, who lives at Kingston Lisle near Wantage, moved on to the 199-winner mark with a double at Leicester yesterday on Jonjo O'Neill's Master Tern and the Martin Pipe-trained Polar Champ.
Master Tern made up for falling last time when opening his account over fences with a two-length defeat of Ibis Rochelais in the Groby Novices' Chase after forging ahead on the run-in.
Polar Champ proved a much easier conveyance as he was never off the bridle before coasting to a nine-length victory over Superior Risk in the Chieftain Claiming Hurdle.
McCoy's rides today are Riyadh (1.30), Jour J (2.00), Bow Strada (2.30), Strong Tel (3.00), Baclama (3.30) and Ski Pass (4.00).
