A Wantage woman, distraught after finding out her long-term partner was having a relationship with her sister, stole a friend's cash card so she could escape from the situation.
Didcot magistrates were told that Caroline Brooks, 32, of The Bell in Wantage Market Place, took Joanne Rimmer's cash card and driving licence and used the card to pay for train and ferry tickets to Ireland in December last year.
Brooks, who later handed herself in at Wantage police station, admitted the theft.
She was fined £100, and ordered to pay £118 court costs and £204.41 in compensation to Mrs Rimmer.
