The great-great-grandson of a former Oxford Prison governor has retraced his ancestor's footsteps in one of the last tours of the old jail before its renovation.
Businessman Leonard Tridgell from London, brought some of the original documentation, complete with official seals, from the time his ancestor, known only as Mr Wyatt, was in charge.
The tour was organised for the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and included a presentation by the Osborne Property Group about its plans to redevelop the 11th century castle site, which was used as a prison from the 18th century until 1996.
The prison wings and cells have featured in many films and TV programmes, including The Bill and Bad Girls.
The redevelopment, due to begin next month, will include a hotel, museum, restaurant and art gallery.
