The newly-refurbished Bridge Project received a helping hand from the Co-op in a seasonal gesture of goodwill.
The homeless charity in Iffley Road, Oxford, was given £1,000 from the Oxford, Swindon and Gloucester Co-op.
Co-op spokesman Peter Couchman said: "This is something that we have done on an informal basis in past years.
"The donations were partly funded by our policy of not sending Christmas cards.
"We feel that this is a tangible way to show that our society is thinking of those who still experience great hardship at this festive time of the year."
A Government report last year claimed Oxford had the third highest homeless rate in the UK.
The donation was part of Oxford Swindon and Gloucester Co-op's policy of returning four per cent of its distributable profits to the local community.
The Bridge, which has been based on Iffley Road for ten years, has helped more than 3,500 people. Last year it was refurbished to house up to 20 people in a mixture of single and twin bedrooms.
