Vulnerable people across Oxfordshire can claim an extra £8.50 to help cope with the cold after the recent below-freezing temperatures.
Payments are made by the Government for each seven-day period when the temperature averages freezing point or below is recorded by the Meteorological Office.
Cold Weather Payments are automatically given to pensioners as well as benefit claimants.
They are in addition to the one off Winter Fuel Payment of £200.
People who receive the Minimum Income Guarantee, Income Support or Income Based Job Seeker's Allowance during the seven-day period are also eligible.
Residents who have children aged under five are also able to claim as are people and their partners aged 60 or over who receive a pensioner premium or people who receive a disability premium.
