Charity shop worker Jackie Howard, who was left bruised after a fall in Wallingford town centre, has asked the Oxford Mail to thank the people who went to her aid.
She said she was too shocked at the time to ask their names.
Mrs Howard, 73, from Shillingford, who has worked in the town's Sue Ryder shop for 17 years, tripped on a flagstone outside the old Post Office on Saturday.
She said: "So many folk say that people today would just walk by. But in Wallingford the offers of help were overwhelming."
