An 18-year-old killed himself by climbing a tree and hanging himself with a belt, an inquest in Oxford heard. Martin O'Connor's body was found next to the A44, close to his home in New Road, Woodstock, on April 14 last year.
Dr Winifred Gray, a consultant pathologist at Oxford's John Radcliffe Hospital, said the level of alcohol in Mr O'Connor's blood was twice the drink-driving limit.
Acting Det Insp Simon Morton, from Banbury CID, said officers spotted a belt in a tree above the body.
Mr O'Connor's brother Vincent said his brother had gone out the night before he died and seemed to have had a good time.
Coroner Nicholas Gardiner recorded a verdict that he took his own life.
