Witney's long-awaited Cogges Link Road moves a step nearer to construction with a new county council planning proposal.
Details have gone out this week, with the public being given a deadline of Wednesday, January 30, to comment.
The original plan, to build the road in two stages, has been scrapped in favour of a one-phase construction all the way from the Sainsbury roundabout at Witan Way through to Oxford Hill.
Planning consent for the road was agreed in 1997 but
Tina Rowley, of West Oxfordshire District Council's planning department, said: "There are some technical details that have changed and these need to be approved."
If all goes to plan, work on the £8m road could start in the autumn of next year and be finished the following year.
