Floral tributes have been left on the doorstep of Stephanie Whittaker's Didcot home after her death at the weekend.
Police launched a murder inquiry after her body was found at her house in Blenheim Close, early on Saturday.
Her husband Kenneth, 45, appeared before Didcot magistrates on Monday charged with her murder.
Whittaker, a plumber, was remanded in custody to appear at Oxford Crown Court next Monday.
The couple have a five-year-old son Robert, who is staying with an aunt.
The death of the 30-year-old has shocked neighbours and friends.
A handwritten card on flowers placed outside the house described Mrs Whittaker as "a bubbly, fun person with humour, so full of life".
On another floral tribute, a friend recalled "the very good times we had going through pregnancy together and the slimming club. You did so well losing all the weight. You always looked so glamorous and beautiful."
Mrs Whittaker was born and grew up in Headington, Oxford. She was a receptionist with solicitors Morgan Cole in Botley. She also worked in the bar at Didcot Conservative Club for a time.
Friends say she had been keen to reduce weight and joined Downsizers slimming club at Didcot Civic Hall where she was so successful she eventually helped out with running club meetings.
Neighbours in the quiet cul-de-sac opposite the Civic Hall were unaware of the death until detectives began house-to-house inquiries on Saturday morning.
Moreen Cooper, 70, said: "I'm still shaking," after police called on her during their initial investigations.
Neighbours said the Whittakers moved to Blenheim Close about four years ago and were gradually getting to know people in the road.
The family previously lived at Oxford Crescent, Didcot.
County and town councillor Terry Joslin said: "They lived a few doors from us and we knew them quite well as a family with a young child. My wife often chatted to Stephanie. What has happened has come as an absolute shock."
Oxfordshire Coroner Nicholas Gardiner is due to open an inquest, probably today. After formal evidence of identification, it will be adjourned. Police have not yet revealed the cause of death.
