Tesco is planning improvements to its store in Marcham Road, Abingdon to help cope with increasing business.
As part of the refurbishment project there will be covered trolley bays, a new car park layout and new cashpoint enclosure. The entrance area will be expanded and there will be new customer toilets. Tesco also wants to improve facilities at the store with a new staff kitchen. There will also be the construction of a new loading bay.
Tesco spokeswoman Katherine Edwards said: "The Abingdon store continues to grow in popularity and we want to improve our facilities for both customers and staff."
The company has submitted a planning application to the Vale of White Horse District Council, the owners of the land on which the store is built. Tesco hopes to start work in March and complete the improvements by early summer.
