An elderly woman died more than two weeks after she was admitted to hospital, following a fall.
Ivy Lovelock, 87, of Horton-Cum-Studley, was admitted to the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, on March 10 last year after she broke her left leg. She was operated on the following day but, ten days later, began to feel unwell. She was given antibiotics but died on March 26. Dr Ian Buley, pathologist at the JR, said Mrs Lovelock died of septicaemia. Coroner Nicholas Gardiner recorded a verdict of accidental death.
