An unemployed man who suffered from mental health problems died of a drug overdose.
Simon Kemble, 46, died at his flat in Osney Lane, Oxford, on September 27, last year.
Dr Sally Reynolds, of Luther Street Surgery, Oxford, said Mr Kemble suffered from chronic fatigue syndrome, arthritis and was being prescribed anti-depressants to treat a severe personality disorder.
He had suffered a drink problem since his teens, was capable of self-harm and had mentioned suicide on a number of occasions.
Mr Kemble's carer, Hayley Webster, said she found him in his wheelchair.
Dr Ian Buley, a pathologist at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, said Mr Kemble had died from taking a lethal combination of alcohol and the drug Diazepam.
A suicide note was found by his side.
The coroner, Nicholas Gardiner, recorded a verdict that Mr Kemble took his own life.
