Business people in Wallingford are being asked whether they will pay to have CCTV in the town centre.
The town council and Wallingford Business 2000 have put out a joint questionnaire asking businesses if they are prepared to contribute to security cameras and how much.
They have until Friday to reply. Their views will be discussed at meeting between the town council, South Oxfordshire District Council and Wallingford Business 2000.
The cost of the CCTV would be £53,000 and the district council is asking the town to pay a third -- £17,500. The town council says this is too much and has offered £5,300.
