Oxfordshire County Council's chief executive, Dr Richard Shaw, made a lightning tour of Wallingford with county council member Bill Bradshaw.
Dr Shaw is visiting every division of the county with local members to reinforce links between the county council and local communities.
He started at Brightwell cum Sotwell Primary School before going into Wallingford itself.
He visited the Market Place, the Corn Exchange Theatre, the WI Market at the Regal Centre, then watched a demonstration of the county's new mobile speed monitors.
After that Dr Shaw visited Wallingford Day Centre, the Blue Mountains elderly people's home, St Nicholas's Primary School and nursery class, Wallingford School, the library and the primary care trust -- and all before lunch.
