Firefighters rescued ten people trapped inside a burning house on Saturday.
The alarm was raised at 2.30am in Prospect Road, off Britannia Road, Banbury.
Firefighters discovered the people trapped by fire in a ground-floor bedsit, after furniture had caught fire in the house.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the blaze, while their colleagues rescued the occupants and led them to safety.
They were checked for smoke inhalation by paramedics, but no-one needed hospital treatment.
It is thought a carelessly discarded cigarette may have caused the fire.
In Wantage, firefighters were called at 9.30pm on Friday to deal with a blaze which broke out in a first-floor bedroom at a house in Elizabeth Drive, off Denchworth Road.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze. No-one was injured in the incident.
