Three-times Formula One World Champion and Jaguar Racing Team principal Niki Lauda made an historic return to the cockpit on Sunday, after a 16-year gap, when he got behind the wheel of a Jaguar R2 F1 car at the Valencia circuit in eastern Spain on Sunday.
The 51-year old Austrian legend completed ten laps of the four kilometre track.
He said: "It was very interesting for me to experience the technical advances that have taken place in the last 16 years, and how they make a modern Formula 1 car so different from what it was like when I was racing.
My intention was to learn as much about the electronic systems on the car as possible, so that I can relate directly to the drivers' experiences when they are describing technical computer-related issues."
Finance group Egg will be teaming up with Triple 8 Race Engineering, of Greatworth, near Banbury, in the British Touring Car Championships for the second year running. Following last year's success with the team responsible for the works Vauxhall Astra Coupes, Egg will run two cars.
Egg Sport, second overall last year, has signed Matt Neal as one of its two drivers. Neal has several wins at the BTCC.
