Oxford Hawks and Rover Oxford fought out a 2-2 draw in a friendly at Banbury Road North.
Looking to prepare themselves for next week's top-of-the-league clash against Oxford University, Hawks knew a strong performance was vital.
But it was Rover who took the lead after 20 minutes through a Vicky Mankelow goal.
Hawks maintained their composure and were rewarded when Fiona Walton's touch took the ball past the Rover keeper to level the scores just before half-time.
The second half saw further chances at both ends, but this time it was Hawks who took the lead when Claire Halligan's deflection found the back of the net.
However, their advantage was short-lived when less than five minutes later Mankelow scored her second to make it 2-2.
Rover had a chance to go ahead when they were awarded a penalty stroke for a foot on the line, but they were denied by the post.
City of Oxford proved far too strong for Farnham Common, beating them 4-0 in a friendly, with goals from Amanda Pearce-Higgins (2), Emma Crossley and Yun-Lee Oakley once each.
Wychwood Ladies beat Harlow 2nd 6-2 in a friendly with a brace of goals each from Anne Dobson, Carmen Hillier and Aimee Shaw.
Oxfordshire Under 16s drew 2-2 with Gloucestershire Under 17s B in a friendly fixture at Witney. Faith Locker-Marsh and Sammi Cross scored for Oxforshire.
West Witney went down 4-1 to Reading in their home Home Counties Girls League fixture. Gina Collins scored for Witney, who also hit the post twice.
