Wallingford's Golden Jubilee celebrations should be a tasty affair if a town councillor has his way.
Denis Strange is organising the town's first food fair.
He is asking people in the food trade to show off their skills and knowledge by presenting a range of food -- with or without tasting sessions -- to the general public.
Mr Strange said: "We have a lot of marvellous food outlets in the town with a wide range of ethnic cuisine and I think it could be a real highlight of the celebrations in June."
It will run in the Market Place between 9am and 4pm on Saturday, June 1. Details can be obtained from Mr Strange on (01491) 826303.
Other attractions already planned for the festivities between Saturday, June 1 and Tuesday 4 include a river steamer, a four day train event, a ball, discos, hot air balloon and a classic car rally.
