Hartley Wintney 2, AFC Wallingford 1
AFC Wallingford's 20-match unbeaten run in the Combined Counties League Premier Division came to an end when they lost to early season pacemakers Hartley Wintney last night.
With second-placed Ash recording a 6-1 victory, Wallingford's lead at the top of the Premier Division has been cut to four points.
All the significant action came in the first half, with Hartley scoring through Peters and Bassett either side of a 24th minute goal for Wallingford by Pete Bryan.
The visitors' fate would have been even worse had not keeper Craig Rutherford saved a penalty just before half-time - his third such save in a month.
Wallingford pressed for much of the second half, but could not preserve their run.
