A roadside shelter may soon rise in Cumnor from the ashes of a bus-stop torched by vandals three months ago.
But this time, its users won't be going any further than the village boundaries.
For the parish council has decided not to replace the bus shelter as such, but is looking at the possibility of a similar building on the site to provide a meeting point for local people. Parish chairman Dr Philip Hawtin said: "It has been decided it should not be rebuilt as a bus shelter because local bus services have been re-routed.
"However, we have got a couple of councillors and an architect looking at some sort of sheltered area, which I suspect would be quite well used."
