A nine-year-old boy was so concerned for a teenager suffering from cancer that he nominated her for a building society cash award.
Now Charlotte Blaine, who has bone cancer in her legs, has been given £500 by Coventry Building Society.
The cash came from its Santa's Little Helper Christmas Campaign -- part of its Tender Loving Care in the Community programme.
Children were asked to help make Christmas special for someone, by nominating them for the cash windfall.
Tim Anderson, of Orchard Way, Kidlington, met Charlotte, 14, and her family at Kidlington Baptist Church, where the minister, the Rev Graham Sinden, led fortnightly prayers for her. He won £15 worth of CD vouchers for nominating her.
The West Kidlington Primary School pupil said: "I just wanted to do anything I could to help her."
Gosford Hill School pupil Charlotte, of South Close, Kidlington, was diagnosed with cancer in her left tibia in June 2000. Despite chemotherapy and an operation, the disease has returned in both her legs.
Doctors started to give her more chemotherapy, but stopped when the treatment started to make her go deaf.
Charlotte was one of six nominees to win £500 from Coventry Building Society and has spent it on a music system. She said: "It was a lovely thing for Tim to do for me."
