Woodstock Harriers produced an excellent team display to take first place at the popular Roman nine-mile race in Stratford-upon-Avon.

The long-running event attracted a field of more than 700 runners, but this could not prevent Woodstock from turning on a superb performance to secure the team gold.

Pride of place went to Simon Lund, who clocked 49mins 31secs to come fourth overall.

Veteran Bryan Vaughan, who will be 49 years-old in May, finished sixth - just failing to beat the 50-minute barrier.

With Richard Beaumont crossing the line in ninth place, it ensured the team prize for Harriers.

Mike Baillie was the first of 20 Witney Roadrunners home, finishing a creditable 13th in 52.32.
