Organisers of a Wallingford youth transport scheme, are to meet town councillors to discuss a grant for a new minibus.
Wayout (Wallingford Area Youth Organisations' United Transport) service has been operating for 20 years and helps 23 local organisations, but its J-registered vehicle needs replacing.
Wayout hopes its new minibus will have better facilities for the disabled.
Town council member Denis Strange, a committee member of Wayout, did not take part in discussions at the council meeting, but said afterwards that, with grants and other fund raising, the group has £14,000 towards its new reconditioned minibus, which could cost about £20,000. He said: "It provides a marvellous service to lots of organisations in Wallingford and surrounding villages."
Representatives of the group will try to persuade councillors to contribute.
Cllr Pat Granados said funding by the parish would also help the group get further grants from elsewhere.
