A man accused of being part of a blackmail plot was caught after he fled out of the back of a house and over a garden fence, a jury was told.
Mark Dawes was arrested after police went to an address in Shepherds Hill, Greater Leys, Oxford, following the abduction of Faisal Idris, Oxford Crown Court was told.
Dawes, 24, of no fixed address, is alleged to have blackmailed Mr Idris' sister and brother-in-law by demanding money.
He denies the charge. The trial continues.
