Thieves stole an Oxford Mail van containing 1,500 newspapers yesterday afternoon.
The van was stolen outside Iffley Road News, Iffley Road, Oxford, at 1.30pm, while the driver was delivering copies to the shop.
After being driven south, the van stopped off at Mould's Reclaiming Plant, in Playhatch, near Reading.
It was then seen driving dangerously along the A4155 before turning off in the direction of Sonning Common.
Telford Cook, of Binfield Heath, who saw the van said: "I called up the Oxford Mail to complain about the van being driven very erratically. How it missed one car I don't know."
Anyone who has seen the van, registration V232 RBW, is asked to contact Oxford police on 01865 266333 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
