Oxford Harlequins' hopes of reaching a Twickenham final this season were dashed when they lost 33-17 at home to Hertford in the sixth round of the Powergen Intermediate Cup on Saturday.
Three late tries in the first half set up the victory for Hertford, who deservedly went through to the quarter-finals for the second successive year.
Quins, who had lock Rob Dow sent off in the second half, scored through four penalty goals from player-coach Matt Maudsley and a late try by winger Steve Chadbone.
