A man who attacked a customer in a pub, leaving him with a broken cheekbone, has been jailed for a year.
Jonathan O'Brien, 22, of Bartholomew Road, Cowley, injured Aaron Massey during a fight at the Original Swan pub, in Oxford Road, Cowley, on October 16, last year.
O'Brien pleaded guilty to a charge of grievous bodily harm. He went to Cowley police station after the attack to admit he had been in a fight.
Edmund Walters, prosecuting, told Oxford Crown Court on Friday Mr Massey had gone to the pub with a friend.
O'Brien approached Mr Massey, took his mobile phone and threw it across the pub. Mr Walters said Mr Massey asked O'Brien: "What are you playing at?" O'Brien then headbutted and punched him.
