Oxfordshire's Tim Henman has already started a deep analysis of a defeat in the Australian Open.
The 27-year-old sixth seed, from Weston-on-the-Green, pictured right, has still to reach the quarter-finals of any Grand Slam event other than Wimbledon.
And on the evidence of his straight sets loss to Swede Jonas Bjorkman, ranked 55 places below him, the British No 1 might never do so.
But Henman does not want to forget he has won all his other eight matches this year and collected his ninth career title along the way.
He is sure he is on the right path in his work with American coach Larry Stefanki.
"I think I've shown that my game is certainly improving," he said. "But I've tried to stress all along it's the third week of the year and it is not the time to get carried away.
"It wasn't good enough in this match. He served better, he volleyed well and he was quicker on to passing shots."
