Cholsey Parish Council is almost back to full strength after three new members were co-opted.
They are Greg McKeown, Ann Plummer and Tony Woolston, who all live in the village. Clerk Ian Miles said a fourth new member would be co-opted at a meeting tomorrow, meaning the council would have its full complement of 13.
The influx of new blood follows an appeal in the Oxford Mail. Chairman Alan Dawe said: "As a result of the appeal for people to join us, we have been able to co-opt these new members. It shows the positive influence of our local newspaper."
Tony Woolston, who is retired, was on the parish council five years ago. He said: "I've lived in the village 22 years and love it. I just want to put something back into the community."
