Wallingford at the time of the Queen's coronation will be the main theme of the Golden Jubilee exhibition in the town's museum.
It will be decorated for the Jubilee weekend in June and will feature several special displays.
Museum spokesman Ruth Pidgeon said: "I am sure it will revive many memories of the coronation for local people.
"We hope visitors will be able to identify people in the photographs and be able to add to the information on display."
The museum reopens in March.
Its main spring exhibition will be the work of wood engraver and author Robert Gibbings, who died in Long Wittenham.
