Autotype UTV League

Substitute Steve King came to Sandman's rescue for the second week running as they beat Buckland 3-2 in an Autotype UTV League Devenney Cup third-round replay.

King had grabbed a late equaliser when the sides drew 3-3 in a bad-tempered game the previous Sunday, and he worked his magic again to earn them a quarter-final tie with holders East Hendred.

Division 2 outfit Buckland led 1-0 at the interval thanks to an Adie Holder penalty.

Early in the second half, first division Sandman were handed the chance to equalise when Holder brought down Dave Stanley inside the area.

Agonisingly for Sandman, Barry James's spot-kick hit the crossbar, and 20 minutes from the end, Ross MacDonald made it 2-0 to the underdogs.

But with four minutes left, a Stanley cross found supersub King, who chested the ball past keeper Johnnie Smith to make it 2-1.

With less than a minute on the clock, disaster struck for Buckland when Steve Holder's attempted clearance from Warrick Baldwin's cross, rebounded home off team-mate Matty Godwin.

And King sealed victory for the Abingdon side at the end of extra time, firing home Baldwin's cross.

A hat-trick from Faisal Bamherez helped Medisense to stage a remarkable comeback as they beat Division 3A rivals OUP Wanderers 6-4.

A treble from Will Rum and a John Hannaway strike had seemingly put OUP in the driving seat, but with just 20 minutes left OUP started to crumble as an incredible burst of six goals, including Barnherez's treble, and a brace from Ben Parry, saw Medisense through. Russell Thynne got their other goal.

Sandman now entertain holders East Hendred in the last eight.

Meanwhile, away from the cup, Division 1 leaders Blue Boar won 6-0 at Burford United, thanks to goals from Chris Roach, Frankie Dorrian, Ben Eltham, Mark Hendry, James Buchanan and Andy Stickley.

Saxton Rovers moved into second place beating Brightwell 2-0 with a goal either side of the break from Andy Shaw and Craig O'Connor.

At the other end of the table, Brewery Tap shared the points in a 1-1 draw with Athletico Indaline.

Kenny Rodgers scored for Tap, with Andy Martin providing the reply.

In Division 2, Didcot Labour Club remain in pole position after a hat-trick from David Galliford gave them a 3-2 win at Crowmarsh Gifford.

Sabri Veseli scored both goals for the home side.
