Residents of a Didcot old people's home can now look forward to better viewing following a chance remark to the Oxford Mail.
Susan Hover saw the report of a £300 TV set being given to residents of Ladygrove House by sixth form pupil and part-time care worker Corrina Green.
Corrina, 18, explained at the time: "As many of the residents have failing eyesight and poor hearing, the old TV was not very easy to watch. It would now be nice if someone could donate a video machine."
Mrs Hover, of Abingdon, mentioned this to her husband, Richard, who is a member of the Abingdon Lions Club. Fellow Lions needed little convincing of the worthiness of the cause and were happy to oblige.
