Home-grown arts and craftwork will be incorporated into the design of a £6.3m arts centre planned for Didcot.
Artist Richard Layzell is joining the centre's design team later this year and will be inviting local people to take part in a series of arts workshops.
Carole Heath-Whyte, South Oxfordshire District Council cabinet member for recreation, said the workshops would lead to the design of original artworks to be incorporated in the design of the building.
The district council has pledged £6.3m capital funding for the arts centre which will be a focal point in the town's planned £35m Orchard Centre shopping development.
The centre, which will include a performance area, will serve a range of creative activities with the aim of engaging the whole community.
