A 19-year-old Oxford man needed 30 stitches to cuts on his face after he was assaulted after an argument on a bus.
The victim was attacked by an Asian man after an argument started between the two on a number 1 Blackbird Leys bus, at about 3am, on Sunday, January 20.
The dispute then spilled on to the street near the junction of Cowley Road and Manzil Way.
Police believe a knife may have been used in the assault. The victim suffered numerous lacerations to his face and was treated at the John Radcliffe Hospital. He has since been discharged.
The offender is an Asian man, about 22 years of age and about 6ft or 6ft 2 ins in height.
He had a small scar near his right eye, is of medium build, with short black hair, and was wearing a light coloured top.
