More than 10,000 Christmas trees have been collected for recycling by Cherwell District Council.
Cllr David Markham, the council's executive member for environment, said the response by residents had been "wonderful". He added: "Collecting them allows us to turn the trees into compost instead of taking them to landfill sites."
