Carfax tower in Oxford is closed for the winter after experimental opening in the cold season proved fruitless.
Visitors have stayed away from the top of the tower, which provides a spectacular view of the city, during the cold winter months. Managers at the Museum of Oxford, which looks after Carfax Tower, have decided to close it until Easter.
The tower is a major attraction for visitors to the city during the summer.
