Wheelchair angler Mark Bowell, from Burcote, caught a magnificent 6lb 11oz chub which came at the end of a pike-fishing session.
Mark had been fishing the Thames at Shillingford with his mate Kevin Harris, from Blackbird Leys, and after struggling all day, they were about to pack up when Kevin landed a pike of 9.0.0.
Moments later, Mark struck into what he thought was a pike, which turned out to be the massive chub. The fish took a whole sardine on 12lb line to wire and size ten trebles.
