Defending champions Les Gillett, from Chipping Norton, and Mark McMahon came through the first round of the national indoor bowls pairs championships at Potters Leisure Resort in Norfolk yesterday. They saw off Welshmen Alan Mathias and Phil Rowlands 10-4, 9-4.
