Cherry Red Records Hellenic League
Eton Wick 0, North Leigh 4
The only Hellenic League game to survive the weather saw North Leigh came safely through a tricky Challenge Cup third-round tie played in wet and blustery conditions at Eton Wick.
Despite being forced to make late changes in central midfield following the loss of Darren Maisey and Nick Hughes through injury, North Leigh dictated play throughout against their Division 1 opponents.
Youngster Joe Burnell opened the scoring for the visitors after 12 minutes with a close-range shot at the far post, then Andy McCabe made it two on the half hour when he latched on to a knock down from fellow striker Justin Timms.
Six minutes into the second half, Timms made it three from the penalty spot after McCabe had been hauled down in the box.
Man-of-the-match McCabe then added his second and North Leigh's fourth goal 15 minutes from time when he went past two defenders to score.
Substitute Sean Bott, playing his first game since an ankle operation, saw a late effort rebound off the woodwork in the closing stages.
