National League 1
The depression that settled over Henley on Saturday morning, bringing continuous rain, intensified at about 4pm as the Hawks lost 22-12 at home to Otley.
Fly-half Simon Binns scored all Otley's points, with a converted try and five penalties.
He was well supported by a side that retained possession in difficult conditions, dominated the line-outs and played 80 per cent of the match in Hawks' territory.
Despite this, they did not go into the lead until the 48th minute, when Binns scored the decisive try, taking advantage of Henley being reduced to 14 men after Ric Van Zyl was sent to to the sin-bin for retaliation.
Jon Fabian had continued his own immaculate kicking form to put Hawks, who lost acting skipper Matt Jones in the 35th minute with a rib injury, 9-6 ahead at half-time.
Fabian also levelled the scores at 12-12, before the match went away from Henley with Binns's try.
