The popular Red Cross medical loan service in Didcot has been re-introduced.
Under the arrangement, wheelchairs, commodes, toilet aids and other equipment can be borrowed short-term, free of charge.
The service, which had to be suspended nine months ago because of staff illness, is one of the most popular provided by the Red Cross.
Over the past nine months, many people have had to travel to Abingdon to collect equipment.
Now it is back and unlike before, people borrowing equipment will no longer be required to produce a doctor's note.
As well as being used by local people, Hazel Pells co-ordinator of the Didcot Medical Loan Centre, said the service was heavily booked at holiday times when many families arranged for the loan of equipment for elderly or infirm relatives and friends visiting the area.
Mrs Pells said people wanting to borrow equipment should call Mary Melin 01491 205565 or 01235 555811 in an emergency.
