A cyclist was taken to hospital with a serious head injury, following a rush-hour collision with a car.
The accident on Cowley Road, Oxford, took place at around 5.40pm yesterday.
The cyclist, a middle-aged man, was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital by ambulance.
The road was partially closed by Thames Valley Police for almost two hours, while paramedics treated the injured man.
Insp Peter Shepherd, from Thames Valley Police headquarters in Kidlington, said: "The road was partly closed. This was to allow traffic investigators to begin an investigation into what caused the accident."
