Walking through the park reciting poetry to a loved one is a beautiful image -- the trouble is remembering the words.
But in Betjeman Park, in Wantage, you can take the poetry trail and not even have to memorise the poems.
The Betjeman Millennium Park Trust, which saved the park from housing development, is spending £40,000 to install six stone tablets featuring poetry by Sir John Betjeman. The park is named after the former Poet Laureate, who lived in Wantage for 20 years.
The second of the six installations, by sculptor Alex Peever, featuring words from Distant View of a Provincial Town, was unveiled yesterday.
