Citroen's Saxo VTS and VTR combination has been crowned the UK's undisputed hot hatch champion for 2001, taking the title for an incredible fifth year in a row by outselling rivals from Ford, Renault and Volkswagen.
During the year, the 120 horsepower 1.6i 16V Saxo VTS and the 1.6i Saxo VTR, which saw its power increased to 100 horsepower, captivated the hearts and minds of more than 10,500 new buyers, some 1,500 more than in the previous 12 months.
