A book distributor that has its UK headquarters in Bicester has snapped up a US rival.
Advance Marketing has bought Publishers Group West, the largest distributor for independent publishers in North America. Managing director Mike Kidd said: "This move has opened up a massive range of publishers for whom we can potentially distribute in the UK."
Advance Marketing recently spent £1m redeveloping its offices and warehouses and has split into three divisions -- retail, book club and leisure. The retail division sells to supermarkets, while the leisure division supplies garden centres and National Trust shops.
