A small army of people armed with chainsaws and axes are preparing to repel marauders on the Chilterns.
They will tackle hawthorn bushes and other woodland scrub on the hills above Watlington. The aim is to restore downland, an important habitat for flowers, insects, birds and animals.
The five-hour conservation effort will start at 10am on Tuesday.
