Oxford & District duo Chris and Glenn Allen are through to the national finals of the EIBA Father & Son Pairs after a thrilling last-end victory over Oxford City & County's John and Mike Philpott in the Area 15 final.
The Allens were in storming form early on and it looked all over as they went 20-5 up by the 11th end.
However, the Philpotts were far from finished and won six ends in a row to close the gap to 21-18 by the 20th end.
On the final end, the City and County pair were holding the three shots they needed to square the match, but the Allens turned it around to take it by one shot for a 22-18 triumph.
They now go on to represent the county at Lawson Park, Bedford, on March 29-31.
Oxford & District clubmates Katherine Hawes and Howard Watts looked certain winners of the Mixed Pairs Area 15 final against Foxhill's Wendy James and David Fox, but again, there was a sting in the tail.
Hawes and Watts led all the way up to the 19th end but the Foxhill pair took the last six ends in a row for a 21-18 victory took book their place in the nationals at St Neots, Cambridgeshire, from March 15-17.
An Oxfordshire Presidents' team defeated their Gloucestershire counterparts 130-112 in the annual encounter at Sandy Lane.
Gloucester's side included George Ridgeon, a wheelchair bowler, who competed in a special buggy.
